Back in the day, I spent a fair amount of time camping in big bulky canvas tents. Honestly, I prefer canvas over nylon for a variety of reasons. One of my favorite types of canvas tents is the Baker Tent. It’s great for winter since you can build a fire in front and get radiant heat transferred into the tent. Sadly their weight makes them only practical for pack animals and vehicle camping.
